This question was posted, a quote from Laurence Gardener. I found my response worth sharing with everyone. So, I posted it here.

Who created the serpent? Nowhere in the Genesis account is there any mention, direct or indirect, of Satan’s involvement, and yet it has become common practice for the Church to portray the serpent as an emissary of Satan, or even as Satan himself. -Laurence Gardner

All rebellion is attributed to Satan. He led the revolt in Heaven (which he lost in fullness, despite the teachings of Barack Obama's text book for community organizing, Rules for Radicals).

The serpent taught rebellion to Eve and to Adam. Satan is also called the father of lies. Satan himself or not on that tree... the sinful act can be traced back to him. As we will see, Gardener's real objective is not to find out where the serpent originated, but to create doubt in the reader's mind.

Just a thought... I wonder if that is how Satan became corrupted- he ate the fruit of "the knowledge of good and evil" and that is how he learned to do evil? Never had that thought before now. Interesting, though.

Now, scripture tells us that the Holy Spirit will give us what to say in the "hour" before we need it. And, it just happens that less than 30 hours prior to reading this question (two nights previous), I could not sleep. I got up and began to pray. I remembered a book I had not finished reading, and read it through to the end. It is titled, "Out of the Devil's Cauldron" by John Ramirez, a man who got saved out of Satanism.

He describes in the last chapter how, after God showed him His power over Satan in a dream (same happened for me, around 1995), demons came and attacked him every night for about 30 days. Some time after that ended, he asked the Holy Spirit, "Why did you permit the enemy to do that?"

The Holy Spirit replied, "I wanted to see how much you loved me."

Laurence Gardner, the author of the question posted, seems to me to be one of the theological, academic types, not a real seeker of God. These are the kinds of questions asked by those who want a mental relationship with the knowledge of God, or who live to hate God and challenge everything about Him. What he needs is this advice from Jesus in Matthew 22:37, "love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind."

Look at the first question alone: "Who created the serpent"? That is a silly question, asked by someone who is challenging the authority of God. The answer, for those who trust in God's word is this: God created everything. "All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." (John1:3)

I just looked up L. Gardner on the 'net. It seems he is a writer of "alternative history". And, conspiracy theorists (who seem to be right in most cases, to be honest) have him pegged as a "reptilian shape shifter". He must be up to some real no-good acts to get such a title!

Gardner preaches a lie of which I am already well aware: That aliens are the real creators of life on earth, not God. This deception is one that is coming. Look at the format of Gardner’s line of thought. First he starts with a question. This opens the door of doubt, and sets up the target to receive a lie. Like I stated above, lies can be traced back and credited to the father of lies- Satan. Recall how the serpent in the garden opened the door of doubt with Eve. After she tells the serpent that God warned they will die if they eat the fruit, the serpent queries, “Did He really say that?”

We can see whose format Gardner has taken.

Any person who takes up any book by Laurence Gardner to read it has already committed an error. The best course from there is to throw it out, or somehow get it out of your house, and expel it from your mind. Satanists teach their disciples that “the battle is for the mind.” That is where they attack. Don’t let your guard down!

The Grail Enigmna: The Hidden Heirs of Jesus and Mary Magdalene: This book pretends to be a scientific telling of a hidden story about how Jesus fathered children with Mary. This is simply a lie. History plainly recorded that Jesus died by crucifixion by Roman hands via the insistence of Jewish religious leaders. And, when he died, he had no children. History plainly records he had no children to carry on his name.
